Equipment testing & evaluation

CHI Electric provides transformer and switchgear inspection, testing, service and repair. We evaluate equipment condition and help owners plan maintenance, upgrades and replacement work.

Transformer testing

• Oil analysis, including moisture and dissolved gas analysis (DGA)
• Interfacial tension, acid number and viscosity analysis
• PCB analysis
• Power factor and thermographic testing
• Transformer turns ratio (TTR) testing
• Insulation resistance and contact resistance testing

Transformer service

• Oil filtration, dehydration and degassing
• Acid treatment and particulate removal
• Internal inspection and repairs
• Oil-filled and dry-type transformer rewinding
• Copper or aluminum windings and core repair
• Bushing replacement

Switchgear inspection & testing

• High-current and secondary injection testing
• Insulation resistance and low-resistance contact testing
• Vacuum bottle testing
• Electrical operation and breaker function checks

Repair, maintenance & rebuilding

Service options include cleaning, lubrication, adjustment and testing. Repair and rebuilding work can include bus bar repairs, trip unit upgrades, breaker replacement, and replacement of bushings, coils, contacts and motors.
